Good day
GRADE 12 DISTRICT AWARDS CEREMONY:
The district held an awards ceremony where Ms Kgomotso Kau was invited with Tomi Oluwelo.
Tomi Oluwelo received the following at this prestige ceremony:
- Best Male learner in the district
- Best learner in Circuit 1
- Top 3 learner in the district
We are very proud of our learners and teachers. Our learners out perform many other learners and schools. Dedication and goals are very important to reach the highest sport in life.
UNIFORM:
There are still learners with the wrong uniform. Please check diary for school rules.
Please make sure that you child is wearing the correct uniform. It is available at Silver Cross, Pretoria-North. For PT – Physical Training – they have to wear the Vossie black short with the PT golf shirt. The school’s PT tracksuit pant is also available from Silver Cross. No other tracksuit pant will be allowed, so please make sure you buy the correct PT uniform. They are only allowed to wear the PT uniform when the teacher tells them they will be doing exercises outside.
When a learner is not dressed correctly, such learner’s parent will be contacted to bring the correct uniform. We will not tolerate any incorrect uniform.
High School learners can wear the school Blazers, but they must wear WINTER UNIFORM if they wear the Blazer to school. It is not worn with Summer Uniform.
SCHOOL PHOTO DAYS:
Due date for orders will be on the 29th of February 2024. No orders will be taken in after the 29th of February. We would like to hand out the photos before the end of term 1.
SCHOOL FEES:
February 2024’s school fees had to be paid on the 3rd of February 2024. We do ask that if you didn’t pay yet to do so immediately. All learners did receive an account on Friday 25 January 2024. Accounts that are in arrears will be handed over for collection.
BEHAVIOUR:
It saddens us to think that there are children that show bad behaviour on the bus and at school. We know that our learners are brought up to respect and behave. We do ask the parents to speak to your child about behaviour and respect. On the bus we sit on the seats and not jump or run around. It is extremely dangerous when they don’t obey the rules. Such learners will be taken off the bus and will have to be transported by their parents to and from school.
In class learners need to show respect to the teacher and their fellow learners. They need to obey the class and school rules at all times. They must have all their books at school every day. Homework must be done every day. Bad behaviour disrupts the class and hamper the other learners and teacher to do their best, and this is not acceptable at all. Such learners will be taken out of class and the parents will be contacted immediately.
SAFETY OF LEARNERS:
We as school and the bus company are doing our utmost best to keep all learners safe when they are at school. After school we don’t have any control over situations that might occur. So, we do ask that you speak to your child about the importance of climbing the right bus and go home immediately after the bus dropped your child off. They must not go with a friend, if you as parent did not give your consent for it. We don’t know all the friends of your child and it is impossible to know where they go when they get off the bus. This is the responsibility of the parent to make sure your child knows to go home and keep you up to date where they are or what they do after school.
PAWS FOR A CAUSE:
This project kicked off and we hope and trust that each grade will once again contribute to this worthy cause. Everybody that has a family pet knows how special it is to have a furry friend. It learns responsibility and to care. Animals make our lives richer and we know there are always one or 2 furry friends waiting to say hello when we arrive home. Tails wagging!!
More information will be given through about this project.
JUNIOR LEADER CAMP:
The Junior Student Council will be going on a leadership cam from 9 February 2024 – 11 February 2024. We trust you will enjoy and come back with a lot more leadership skills.
We hope you will have a wonderful weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. JS Diedericks
