NEWSLETTER 31 | TERM 4 – 2020

Good day

The year has come to an end very quickly.  This will be the last letter for 2020.

COMPULSORY MASKS:

It will be holiday time soon and we know that there will be some parents that will be going on holiday and others that will spend the holiday time at home.  But it is still very important to wear your mask when you leave home.  This is for your own safety.  We cannot afford to have a steep incline in numbers of people that will be testing positive during the holiday season.  Please wear your mask and sanitize or wash your hands regularly.

2021 SCHOOL TIME TABLE:

As mentioned in the previous letter Charlton Vos will be re-opening on the 13th of January 2021 for learners.  All learners will be at school from the 13th of January.  There will be no groups anymore.  It is the beginning of a new academic year and like in the past CVC will not be behind in any academic work.  We have done all the work for the whole of 2020, and we did not leave anything out because of COVID-19.

Our school year was a huge success despite the interruptions that COVID-19 brought upon us.

SCHOOL FEES:

Please make sure your school fees are up to date.  For any queries, please contact the office or send an email to, Me. Heidi vd Merwe at fees@cvc.africa

We have sent several sms, emailed letters to parents who are in arrears.  All accounts had to be up to date by the 3rd of November 2020.  All parents who’s accounts were handed over for collection, were informed long ago.  They will have to collect reports from the debt collectors.

MENTIONED IN PREVIOUS LETTER:  END OF THE YEAR ARRANGEMENTS:

The end of the year is approaching very fast now.  There are still some parents that didn’t bring their accounts up to date with the amount outstanding yet.  Due to the fact that we will not be able to have all the parents owing to come to school and make the final payment in November/December to collect the report, all fees must be paid up before the 3rd of November 2020.  If your account is still in arrears after the 3rd of November 2020, your account will be handed over and you will have to collect your child’s report from the attorneys in Pretoria-North.  So we do ask that you make sure that your account is settled in full by the 3rd of November 2020 when November 2020’s school fees must be paid.

Please send a mail to fees@cvc.africa (for attention Heidi vd Merwe), if you have any queries relating to your account.  Make sure your use your child’s account number as reference when sending a mail.

Only for parents that were handed over:  If your account is in arrears, you will have to fetch your child’s report from the debt collectors in Pretoria-North.  They will be closing on the 15th of December 2020 and only re-opens on the 18th of January 2021.  You will need to get a letter from the debt collector stating that your account is paid up before we can register your child again.

NEW CONTRACTS FOR ALL LEARNERS:

All parents of all learners need to complete a new enrolment form for the next academic year.  You don’t need to send in any other documentation, only completed enrolment form.  This is necessary because we need to update our systems from the forms.  It is compulsory to complete the form.

IMPORTANT:

Charlton Vos will open on the 13th of January 2021 for learners.  The office will be open from 6 January 2021 from 9h00.  Please remember to contact Mr Osiame Shikoane for any queries in connection with transport – 079 087 1672.  There are specific routes with specific pick up and drop off points.

STATIONERY 2021:

All learners received lists for stationery for 2021.  Those prices are from Protea Books in Hatfield.  You can still buy the stationery from any outlet that stock the correct textbooks.  Grade RR – Grade 3 stationery will be available at school.  We are not affiliated with any bookstore at all.  Make sure that your child is ready with all stationery the first day of 2021 when school re-opens.

Grade RR – grade 3 stationery:

As the 2021 academic year is peeping around the corner, we want to forward the following about the 2021 stationery.

To financially accommodate parents, we decided to keep the stationery amount per grade at the prices of 2020.

GRADE RRR 1200NO CASH, PAY WITH CARD AT SCHOOL OR DEPOSIT INTO BANK ACCOUNT
GRADE RR 1200
GRADE 1R 1300
GRADE 2R 1200

You can buy your own stationery, but make sure you read the letter about stationery carefully.  Also make sure that you buy the exact same brand to avoid disappointment later.

All grade RR to grade 3 learners’ parents did receive a “whats app” message from the class teachers explaining the procedure of the stationery for 2021.

GRADE R GRADUATION:

The Grade R learners will be having their Graduation ceremony on the 27th of November 2020.  It will be at Avenue on Iris.  No parents will be allowed, due to the COVID-19 rules and regulations.  There will be a Videographer and you will be receiving a CD free of charge of the whole ceremony.  They have grown up so fast and now they are ready for the ‘BIG’ SCHOOL.  Thank you to all the grade R parents that took the hands of the teachers to make this year a success for each of our grade R learners.   It was not always easy to teach your own child during the lockdown period, but you did it and we are so proud of our grade R parents and learners.
