NEWSLETTER 27 | TERM 3 – 2022

Good day

Welcome SPRING!  What a wonderful time of the year.

RESPECT AND BEHAVIOUR: (Also in previous letter)

It is very important that our learners are respectful towards adults and fellow learners.  We do find that some learners, girls and boys, are very arrogant towards teachers.  This is something we are not going to tolerate here at school.

We also have some learners that are vandalizing school property.  Kicking holes through the doors (brand new toilet block).  Hitting holes in the ceiling of the new toilet block.  We are not going to entertain such behaviour here at school.  Parents of the culprits will pay for the damages and these learners are not welcome in our school anymore.  We try and make everything neat and beautiful for all, but then we have a handful of learners that don’t have any respect for other people’s property.

We will not let children dictate to us here at school.  All learners will follow all the school rules and behave themselves.  They will respect all staff and fellow learners.  They will behave on the bus and on the premises.  If they don’t, they will have to find another school where they can make and break as they wish.  Here at Charlton Vos, we still believe in morals and values and rules.  We are here to teach them and to prepare them for their future, so that they all can be outstanding citizens of South Africa when they grow up and enter the adult world.

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

As from 1 September all learners will be wearing summer uniform.  Make sure your child’s uniform is correct.  No other clothing or colours will be allowed at school.  We are proud of our uniform and therefore we expect all learners to be very neat and wearing the correct uniform.

We are once again experiencing a problem with the boys where the wrong pants.  They narrow their school pants to much and it looks despicable.  It is not part of our uniform.  If they want to wear the skinny pants, it must be bought from Silver Cross.  No home tailored skinny pants will be allowed.

REGISTRATION FOR 2023: (Extremely important:  Parents must take note)

It is very important that parents take note of the following:

GRADE 9 & 10:

Should a child fail this grade or being progressed (do not pass on their own), they will not be allowed to return to CVC in 2023.  We have a huge space problem and classes are full for the next year.

Please share this with your child, so they understand the consequences of failing the grade.

AFTER SCHOOL:

We had this in the previous letter, but still there are parents that don’t keep to this arrangement.  If you are not going to be on time, learners will have to be waiting outside the school premises until you pick them up.

Learners must be picked up from school in time:

Monday – Thursday: Must be picked up not later than 14h15

Fridays:  Must be picked up not later than 13h15

They will not be allowed to enter school again.  They will have to sit in waiting are, waiting for transport.

We don’t have aftercare at all.  Make sure you give the necessary arrangements through to the relevant people so your child will be picked up directly after school is out.  Please do the arrangements with the taxi, afterschool/care, private transport also.

SPRING DAY:  FRIDAY 2 SEPTEMBER 2022:

We will be celebrating Spring day on Friday the 2nd of September.  Learners that would like to wear civvies must pay R 5 at the register teacher.  It will be a normal school day and no fun day.  All school rules apply.  No cell phones or ear phones.  Bring books for all periods.

Regards
