Good day
UNIFORM:
Since the beginning when Charlton Vos opened its doors, we always had such beautiful compliments from all over about how neat our learners are. How the respect their uniform. But we regret to say that we are so disappointed in some of our learners, their uniform is dirty and untidy.
We will be having regular inspections as from immediately and will not tolerate learners that are wearing the wrong uniform or an untidy uniform. All learners must be proud of their uniform.
This is not negotiable and we need the parents to take our hands and make sure that your child is correctly dressed every day and that their uniform is impeccable at all times. That is one of the most important lessons for their future, always dress to make an impact.
DISCIPLINE AND UNRULY LEARNERS:
We at school believe that there is discipline in Heaven and that discipline is one of the most important pillars of life. Without discipline we will not be able to uphold good qualities and be the best we can. In all households there must be discipline to help each other reach our goals. This needs to be taken seriously and we need to make sure that good discipline flows over to school and work places. Discipline and good manners go hand in hand and is seen in our children’s behaviour at school. Parents need to make sure that children are aware of the consequences of bad manner and ill-discipline.

DANCING:
It is so nice to hear that our learners are also excelling in there extra mural activities.
We have to girls, sisters, that are excellent in dancing. We want to celebrate them by sharing a few facts about them. These sister are: Mokgethoa Ledwaba grade 7A and Mahlatse Ledwaba grade 6C.
They started to dance in 2019, took part in many competitions where they have won many medals. In March 2023 they went to the Portuguese Islands on the MSC Orchestra where they performed in the IFAA Oceanic Tour. They qualified and received their International Federation Colors. They are currently busy with the SA Championships where they have qualified to compete in the finals.
We wish them the best in their dancing careers. They are definitely born to be on stage and perform.
GRADE 8 CAMP – 2024
Each year it is very necessary to have a camp for the Grade 8 learners. They need to work as a team and also get familiar with their teacher for the year. It also helps us to start identifying learners with certain disabilities or problems so that we can start working with them for day 1. The grade 8 learners also meet new friends and expand their circle. Respect for each other and our elders are very important.
This camp is scheduled for the Friday before the school re-opens for the new academic year. The venue will be given as soon as we have confirmed it. The cost will be R 400,00 per learner. The R 400,00 need to be paid on the latest the end of November 2023.
Final details will be given closer to the time.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE EFFECT OF IT:
Social media can have very positive influence but it can also be a very negative influence. Especially on our youth. They believe every thing they see or hear and try it out. They follow a certain person or group and then they want to behave or dress like these influencers, not knowing that they are doing wrong or busy with very bad stuff. Learners do what the see or hear, and it is our responsibility as parents and teachers to warn them about the consequences of social media. We can not leave our children to do what they want, to say what the want, to think it is right to lie, to bully or to vandalize. We need to make sure they know they are still “in training” and they still have a lot to learn. We lead by example, don’t throw your rubbish out the window, throw it in a dustbin or keep it with you until you get home and throw it away. Don’t try and manipulate people, each are individually made and choose for themselves. Don’t use your position to intimidate people, use it the become successful without a word. A good leader, lead by being part of the team, not by watching what the team do.
Don’t talk bad about other people, rather try and see what you can do to brighten their day. These are just a few important markers that we need to teach our children, to make the world a better place for everyone.
GENERAL:
Children need to take part in extra mural activities. They need to live their passion and see that there are so many other nice and beautiful ways to get rid of all the negative things in life. And in taking part in these extra activities are helping them to excel in school. They learn to balance their responsibilities, to share with other learners on a different field outside of school and to build their confidence.
So, get your child enrolled in something they would love to try or do and by doing that we keep them off the streets and help them not to get involved with gangs and other bad situations where harm can come to them. It is our responsibility as parents to make sure that our children get the best out of life and that they are safe at all times.
It is important to spend quality time with your children. They need to feel safe and loved. Help them with homework, or to study. Just be there, it makes a huge difference.
