SUMMER UNIFORM:
As from the 1st of September all learners must be wearing summer uniform. Check diary if you are not sure about what your child must wear. Silver Cross has all the necessary attire. Please make sure your child is properly dressed every day. We are very proud of our uniform.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- We remind all parents again: A learner who fails Gr 8 – 12 will not be re-admitted. There will be no space.
- Cell phones: No learner is allowed to use a cell phone at school. If the child is sick, the office will call the parents.
- School closes on the 29th of September at 10h00. Please make the necessary arrangements to fetch your child from school not later than 10h15 if your child is not making use of the bus.
- Make sure that your school fees are paid up to date. Learner accounts that are in arrears will not be able to re-register for 2024.
- We have spoken about this issue since the beginning of the year and even prior to that: If a learner has disciplinary problems, they will not be re-register for the following academic year. All the necessary documents were sent to the parents in time. Contract also stipulates that any learner is only registered for one academic year and need to re-register for the following year. Right of admission reserved.
- Thursday, 31 August is last day for camp payment – primary school.
- Friday is casual day. On those who bought a sticker will be wearing casual clothes. The rest will wear school uniform.
- Cell phones: Parents must check what is on your child’s cell phone. Some learners are busy with pornography and has very distasteful stuff on their phones. Parents stay responsible for what is on their children’s phone.
- The re-registration process has closed for 2024. Learners that received disciplinary letters and learner accounts that have been behind will not be re-registered for 2024. This has been communicated a few times, via letters, email and sms.
- The last week of this term, 25 September – 29 September, all learners must be at school. All grades will start with term 4 work which will not be repeated due to learners being absent. Term 4 is very short and we need to thoroughly prepare for exams and complete term 4 work.
- It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that the school uniform is not torn. We have many learners coming to the office with torn clothes (did not happen at school) and then we have to try and mend it. Sometimes it is impossible. So, we will not be mending any clothes anymore at school. If it is torn badly, we will contact the parent to bring another pair of pants or shirt. We try and help them by giving them something to wear from the lost and found, but sometimes there is no size for them.
GRADE 4 – 7 CAMP:
The grade 4 to 7 learners will be leaving on the Tuesday morning (25 September) and will be back on the Friday, 29 September.
We have arranged that the learners will leave the camp site early so that they can use the school bus home. The school will be out at 10h00 on the Friday, and those camp learners will be able on time to use the bus.We know there are many parents that can’t come and fetch the children that time of the day because of work.
