NEWSLETTER 21 | TERM 3 – 2023

Good day

The weather is starting to change now.  We are very glad to welcome the warmer weather.  Spring is almost in the air. 

Remember that from 1^st of September all learners must start wearing summer uniform.  Make sure your child is wearing the correct summer uniform, available from Silver Cross in Pretoria-North.  Many learners have grown a lot over the past few months and they might need new clothing items for the summer school uniform.

SUNSHINE PROJECT:

Thank you for all the contributions coming in.  CVC will definitely make a difference in so many lives this year.  We are so grateful to have such caring parents and learners.

CASUAL DAY:

Learners who took part in contributing R20 for the casual day, will be receiving a sticker on the day.  This contribution will go towards Via Nova School for Disabled children.  We do thank each parent and learner for donating to this day.  Once again CVC learners and parents are caring and helping those in need.  We do thank you for this.

IMPORTANT:

Over the years life has changed for so many people.  Covid was the worst and after that the whole human race looked at life differently.  But we have to remember that morals and values never changed.  The Bible didn’t change.  It is us that changed. 

During Covid many people for the first-time experienced family time as it was supposed to be all the time.  Talking to each other, having lunch and supper together, pray together. BUT when covid was over and everything went back to “normal” we have encountered new problems, problems that we need to solve immediately to avoid chaos, disruption, depression, etc.  Our children are changing and some are becoming very disruptive, and disrespectful.  Entitlement – and how wrong they are!!!!!!!!  You work hard to get what you want, you respect elders and fellow learners, teachers, and parents.  You obey rules, to avoid chaos.  Parents need to go back to the basics, eat together, show interest in your child’s life, make time for each other, teach them morals and values, pray together to our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Show that you care and are interested in your child’s well-being and mental health.  You are the role model in your child’s life and it needs to be a good one, not a perfect one, but one that care, love and cherish.

We need to work together to make sure that our children are prepared for the adult life as we are experiencing it ourselves.  But to raise unruly, arrogant and entitled children are not going to make the world a better place, it is going to make it a place without proper leadership, guidance and togetherness.  Learners must know their place; they must know that parents need to be respected just like everybody else.

The reason our learners are failing and not working hard, in school and in life, is because they know they get to pass doesn’t matter how weak they are academically.  Only the extremely weak will fail, but at the end repeating makes them stronger and working harder.  Where do such learners end up one day??  They need to know that hard work pays off, helps me with my future to reach my goals.  Not all can go to tertiary education centres, we need all types of sectors to flourish – plumbers, electricians, builders, teachers, therapists, medical services, economical services, etc.  And a little bit of hard work never killed a person, it only made them stronger and more successful at the end.

So, parents, let us teach our children respect, morals and values and turn back to Jesus Christ to help us to build a better future for everyone.  A future where we don’t need to constantly fight corruption or theft, but a future of peace and harmony and hard-working men and women.  Where our children and grandchildren can flourish.
