NEWSLETTER 21 | TERM 3 – 2020

Good day

Welcome back to all our teachers and learners after a well-deserved rest.  Everyone is now ready for term 3.

VERY IMPORTANT:

If your child shows any flu symptoms please keep them at home until they are healthy again.  DON’T send your child to school if they are ill.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE:

All learners must be back at school now.  The end of the year is around the corner and we need to make sure that all our learners will be 100% ready to write exam and pass with good results.  The learners are busy with assessments and it is of the utmost importance that all learners are at school to be able to write tests, do assessments in class (orals etc).  These are important and can’t be done at home.  Learners can’t fall behind now.  So we do ask the parents to make sure that all learners are at school.  Only if they have flu symptoms or are ill, they need to stay at home.  Please inform the teachers immediately if your child is not going to be at school so that the necessary arrangements can be made to help the child.

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

From the 1st of September when the school re-opened for term 3, ALL LEARNERS must be wearing the correct uniform.  No other jackets, beanies, or clothing will be allowed.  It is getting warmer now so NO more beanies.  Please make sure you purchase the correct uniform and that your child is dressed according to school rules.  Learners with wrong uniform will be send home or parents will be contacted to bring the correct uniform to school asap.  Make sure your child has the correct PT uniform, available at Silver Cross.

ART COMPETITION FOR GRADE 1 – 3 LEARNERS:

Thank you for all the effort that has been put into making the masks.  There are so many learners that is so creative.  We can see that they have enjoyed it very much.

We will be announcing the winner next week.  Some photos of the masks will also be put on the website.

MASKS:

It is very important that your child wears his/her masks at all times.  Wearing a mask prevent the spreading of the Corona Virus.  Also thank you for keeping social distance and washing hands regularly.

PARENTS WAITING FOR LEARNERS IN THE AFTERNOON:

We have been so busy picking up papers and cleaning up in front of our neighbours premises after parents have picked up their children from school.  We do ask that you don’t through your papers out the window.  This is not a very good image of our school.  Our learners know that there are more than enough dustbins on the premises and they keep it very clean.  Please keep a plastic bag in your car where you can put in all the rubbish until you get home.  DON’T THROUGH IT OUT IN PUBLIC.

Our people have to pick up papers and that waste a lot of time when they are supposed to clean school premises.

PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY:

Due to the fact that functions are limited to a certain number of people, we have changed our plans, but we will still be having a prize giving ceremony this year for our learners that have been working so hard throughout the year.  Details about the function will be given through on a later stage.

RE-REGISTRATION FORMS AND PAYMENT:

We would like to thank all the parents that have sent in the re-registration forms before the due date.  Thank you also for the payment of re-registration fee for 2021.  Those parents that did not yet send back the form must please do so before or on Tuesday 8th September.  We are having many parents that would like to enrol at CVC due to the fact that many other schools haven’t done much work or are still not functioning at all.  CVC has been working throughout the lockdown period and that is why we as school are standing out and are way ahead of many other schools.  Falling behind has a huge influence on learners for the next academic year.  But CVC learners will start the New Year immediately without any problems or learners being behind.  We would like to thank all our parents that have taken our hands and helped us to make this uncertain and upside down year a huge success for our learners.  They are the cream of the crop.

STUDENT COUNCIL FOR 2021:
