NEWSLETTER 20 | TERM 3 – 2021

Good day to all parents

SCHOOL FEES: (Repeat of previous letter)

Please make sure that your account is up to date.  If you have any queries about your account, send an email to fees@cvc.africa, attention Me Heidi van der Merwe.

It stays your responsibility to make sure that your account is correct.  Check the statement every month to avoid any problems at the end of the year.

It is of utmost importance to use the correct family code when paying school fees.  School fees are allocated to learner account according to family code.  No family code no allocation.  Wrong family code, wrong allocation.  As per contract, interest is charged monthly on outstanding accounts.

BUS TRANSPORT:

We are still experiencing problems on the bus with learners misbehaving or damaging property in the bus.  As we explained previously, we have a ZERO tolerance attitude against learners misbehaving or damaging property, and such learners will be taken off the bus permanently.  This is not negotiable.  Please remind your child to behave on the bus.  If a learner is taken off the bus, such learner’s parents will have to arrange alternative transport too and from school every day.

PARENT MEETINGS:

Learners with difficulties or learners that failed the term, are learners that stand a good chance to fail the year.  Such learner’s parents will be contacted to set up a one-on-one meeting with the class/subject teacher.  Meetings cannot be postponed or changed, please adhere to the time and date given.

PARENT AND LEARNER INVOLVEMENT IN STUDIES:

It stays the responsibility of the parent/s to make sure that learners are thoroughly prepared for tests or assignments.  Many learners don’t study for tests, they don’t hand in assignments or homework.  This is a major concern, seeing that they will not be able to pass a term or even at the end of the year.  We don’t just pass learners at the end of the year; they need to pass by themselves to be able to continue in the next grade the following year.  Parents need to make sure they know what learners are writing and also make sure they study every day.   Many learners are playing the whole afternoon and then there is not enough time after supper to prepare for a test or do their homework.  This is the parents’ responsibility to make sure that every single learner is supervised after they arrive home.  WE WILL NOT PASS A LEARNER IF HE/SHE DOESN’T MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.

Always keep in mind your safety, as well as that of those around you.
