At last it is SPRING. And now we can look forward to longer and warmer days.
All learners must wear SUMMER UNIFORM as from the 10th of September 2018. If your child’s uniform is not fitting anymore, please get the correct summer uniform from SILVER CROSS, MADELIEF CENTRE, PTA-NORTH.
A full inspection will be done on Monday the 10th of September from grade R – 11.
GRADE 12 PREPARATORY EXAM:
They are busy with the prep exam and we ask that each grade 12 parent must make sure that they are thoroughly prepared for every paper until the end.
No cell phone will be allowed in class or on the premises. They have to obey the rules concerning cell phones. Check the diary for more information.
2019 SPACE AVAILABILITY:
We had such an influx of learners that we are totally full. But we are still enrolling for grade 1/2019 and gr R/2019. We only have limited spaces available in these 2 grades.
Some learners had received letters earlier in the year to inform the parents that spaces were cancelled due to school fees or then discipline. These learners will not be able to return to CVC next year.
LATE COMERS AND LEARNERS STAYING LATE AFTER SCHOOL:
Just a friendly reminder that all learners must be in time for school. Late comers will be remaining in the waiting area until the end of the first period. This is because they disturb the other learners that are in time and busy working already.
Learners can wait in the waiting area until 14h30. There after we will be closing the waiting area and all learners still at school will be waiting outside the school premises without any supervision. We will not be taking any responsibility after school is out.
PROJECTS, HOME WORK ETC:
We can’t phone mom or dad every time a learner forgets a project or task at home. Many times it is impossible in any case for a parent to rush home and fetch such projects or tasks. We therefore ask that parents must help learners to put all necessary books, projects or tasks in their bags before leaving for school.
It is almost the end of the year and with that said also the last school fees payments for 2018. Please make sure that your fees are up to date. September 2018’s school fees had to be paid on or before the 3rd of September. The only fees still outstanding will be October and November 2018 and re-registration fee if you did not yet paid it.
We would like to thank all the parents that are helping us to learn our learner’s right from wrong, respect, loyalty and being a Christian. We sometimes struggle here at school with learners that are totally out of hand and creating a problem in class and at school. We have a ZERO TOLERACE attitude towards such behaviour and therefore we will not enrol such learner for 2019. It stays the responsibility of the parent to teach each of their children the basic rules. We are not prepared to make the life difficult for a teacher or other learners by keeping learners at school that don’t want to be in school or that are problems at home and school and we don’t get the necessary support from the parents.
We have addressed the issue of illegal drugs many times, we have mentioned it in many letters as well. But some parents are oblivious towards this urgent matter. Drugs destroys lives and can make life a living hell if it is not stopped immediately. We urge parents to keep a close eye on kids to be able to pick up any strange or different behaviour immediately and report it to us as well. Illegal drugs are available in all areas in all forms and many times our kids make wrong decisions and don’t know how to cope with it. This can turn into a very dangerous situation, not only for the kid him/herself but also for the family and friends. So please be vigilant at all times.
