NEWSLETTER 2 | TERM 1 – 2026

Dear Parents

All learners have settled in well at school and we are working very hard. We would like to thank all parents for ensuring that your child has all the necessary stationery required for the year.

We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to the parents who have already paid their school fees for the year or have ensured that the January fees were paid on time.

Please note that there are still parents who have not yet paid the January 2026 fees, and February 2026 will soon be due. Parents whose accounts ar in arrears are kindly requested to ensure that all outstanding payments reflect I our school account on or before Friday, 23 January 2026. Unfortunately, a penalty fee will be added to accounts where payments are made late.

Please be reminded that it remains the responsibility of the parent to ensure that school fees are paid on or before the 3rd of each month.

GRADE 12 RESULTS:

The grade 12 learners of 2025 performed exceptionally well, and we are very proud of their achievements.

We would like to give recognition to one of our learners, Beverly Serumaga-Zake, who achieved four distinctions. In addition, she has also been awarded a bursary from a company that she applied to for her studies. This is a remarkable achievement.

Congratulations, Beverly. We are extremely proud of you and wish you every success in your future studies.

LEARNER SAFETY:

Learner safety is of utmost importance to us, and we kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring that all learners are collected and transported safely after school.

Please ensure that there is always a responsible adult present at drop off and pick-up times to meet your child. It remains the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their child gets home safely after the bus dropped them off.

If your child uses private transport, taxis or aftercare services, please ensure that these services are properly registered and that they comply with all rules and safety regulations. Learners must be collected from school no later that 14h15 from Monday to Thursday and 13h15 on Fridays.

Please note that we do not offer aftercare at the school. It is therefore essential that the person responsible for transporting your child is informed of these times and collects the learner promptly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all learners safe.

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

All learners are required to wear the correct school uniform every day. The uniform must always be neat, clean and in good condition. Please ensure that all uniform items are clearly marked with your child’s name, as we currently have a large amount of uncollected clothing at school.

Parents are kindly requested to consult the school diary for guidance on what uniform items are correct and what is not permitted.

Please note that regular uniform inspections will be conducted. If a learner is not dressed correctly, parents will be contacted and requested either to fetch the learner or to bring the correct uniform to school so that the learner can change.

We are extremely proud of our school uniform, and our learners look beautiful and presentable when wearing it correctly. Let us work together to show the community that CHARLTON VOS is truly the cream of the crop.

DISCIPLINE:

Charlton Vos takes discipline very seriously. This is not a negotiable matter. All learners are expected to obey all school rules at all times. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to discipline.

Unfortunately, there are some learners who are not behaving appropriately in class, on the bus, and on the school premises. Such behaviour will not be tolerated. We will not allow one or two learners to disrupt lessons or negatively affect the learning environment.

Unruly and undisciplined behaviour will not be entertained. At Charlton Vos, we strive to maintain a calm, structured, and firm environment where every learner can learn, grow, and achieve their goals.

Our aim is to guide every child into becoming a responsible adult—one whom both parents and the school can be proud of. We seek to develop learners who will make a positive difference in the world and who will uphold and share the Christian values and morals they have learned, uplifting and building others.

COMMUNICATION:

Communication Is Very Important

Effective communication between parents and the school is essential for the success and well-being of our learners. It is important that parents are aware of what is happening at school and in their child’s classroom.

WhatsApp groups have been created for every grade and class to ensure clear and timely communication. If you are not part of your child’s class group, please contact the class teacher and request to be added.

We expect parents to inform the school immediately of any concerns or issues, whether at home or at school. We cannot address or resolve problems if they are not communicated to us. All matters brought to our attention are handled professionally, respectfully, and confidentially.

Strong communication allows us to work together in the best interest of every learner.

Important Reminder to Parents

Parents are kindly requested to read all SMS messages, emails, and other communications sent by the school or teachers carefully and in full. Important information is often shared through these channels.

In many cases, misunderstandings arise because messages from the school were not read thoroughly. Reading all communication will help ensure that parents remain informed and up to date with school matters.

This will also help streamline communication between the school and parents, allowing us to work together more effectively in the best interest of our learners.

INTERNATIONAL DANCING IN THE USA:

Tumisho Phaahlamohlaka took part in the competition of dancing in the Holiday parade and stage show in Disney world Orlando last year December. He is in grade 5 and is dancing his way to the top. Congratulations Tumisho, we are very proud of you.

We hope and trust that you had a wonderful week and that you will spend quality and quantity time with your family during this weekend. May next week be a blessed week for all.

Regards
