Good day
Welcome back after the holiday. We trust that you have spent quality time with your children. Term 3 is very short but there are still a lot of work to be done.
REPORTS & INVITATION ONLY PARENT DAY:
Reports were handed out on Wednesday, 23 July 2025. Learners that are experiencing problems or failed will receive a letter for parent day. Dates for these parent days are as follows:
| Date | Grade |
| 28 July 2025: 14h00 – 16h00 | Grade 8 |

| 30 July 2025: 14h00 – 16h00 | Grade 6 & 7 |
Grade R – 3 parents will be seen over a period of 1 week. Parents will be invited by teacher.
SCHOOL UNIFORM:
Uniform is expensive and we expect every learner to look after their uniform. All learners must wear winter uniform until the end of August. If your child has grown a lot over the past few months, make sure you turn at Silver Cross to buy the right fitting clothes. We will be having inspections regularly, because many of the learners are wearing the wrong uniform or the uniform is too small. Please be so kind and make sure that your child is properly dress in full school uniform before they leave for school in the morning.
AFTER SCHOOL – WAITING AREA:
We are having a serious problem with learners that are using own transport after school. They are very disrespectful towards the teachers and security. It is not the security’s responsibility to look after learners after school is out. These learners will wait in the waiting area on own responsibility for their transport. They will not be allowed back on the premises after the last bell rang. Please make sure that your child is picked up not later than 14h15 from Monday to Thursday and 13h15 on a Friday. Security is not after care and will not be responsible for your child after school. The waiting area gate will be open, security will only help the traffic to flow after the bell rang.
GRADE 4 – 7 TOILET RENOVATIONS:
We have renovated the toilets of girls and boys of grade 4 – 7 learners. Everything is brand new. It was a tremendous task that was complete during the holidays. We do ask parents to speak to the learners about how to use a toilet and how to keep the bathrooms clean. We will not tolerate any bad behaviour or vandalism at all. We would like learners to take pride in everything we do here at school for them and keep it beautiful and clean.
Photos follow.
VAPING:
This very bad habit has become a huge problem everywhere. It is a very big health risk and can lead to serious health hazards and even death. We need to take a stern stance against this to avoid our children falling ill and get addicted to substances that are deadly. A google questionnaire will be send out shorty so that parents can take our hands to help our children.
