NEWSLETTER 15 | TERM 2 – 2019

Good day

INTERMEDIATE PHASE OUTINGS:
The grade 4 – grade 7 learners went on different outings today.

Cullinan mine, Monte Casino Bird Park and then a theatre production.  They are very excited and we thank all the parents for giving their children the opportunity to join in these educational outings.  Thank you to all the teachers for your effort on this day.

CELL PHONE USE:
As you know learners are not allowed to use their cell phones at school for any reason.  We have a problem with learners phoning their parents to tell them they are ill or not feeling well.  Parents arrive at school to fetch these learners, but the office is not aware that they are ill or not feeling well.  In future, if the school did not phone you to report to you that your child is ill or not feeling well, such learner will not be released to go home.  Some of these learners are taking chances to avoid a class test or don’t want to go to class because they did not do homework.

BAD BEHAVIOUR:
It is again time that we bring under your attention the fact that learners are getting arrogant, naught and disrespectful in classes.  Some learners are very aggressive when spoken too about their behaviour.  We as the school will not tolerate any bad behaviour or aggressiveness.  Parents that receive letters for discipline or parents that receive a phone call, needs to respond immediately.  Such learners will not be allowed back in class.  We have many learners to think about and we are not going to let one or two disrespectful learners hamper the others in education.  We do ask that you speak to your child about behaviour at school and in general.

Thank you to all those parents that constantly speak to their children about behaviour and respect.  We really appreciate it very much.

EXAM:
The exam is around the corner and we hope that your child already started with exam preparations in all subjects.  It is necessary that they are thoroughly prepared for each subject.  It stays the responsibility of the parent to make sure that your child study for each paper.  When a child fails, it is not the school’s fault.  The school did all the necessary preparation with each child to make sure they are ready for the exam.  If a learner did not do homework or assignments it is the learner self that has to be blamed for not progressing.

Hope and trust that you will have a wonderful weekend.
