Good day Parents and Guardians
This is our last letter for the term. It has truly been a very productive term. We have done a lot of important academic work and also made time to enjoy special moments together. We believe that balance is important — learners must work hard, but they must also experience joy and create happy school memories.
BIG BOUNCE
The Big Bounce took place on Monday, 23 March for our Grade 4 – 7 learners. It was an amazing and fun-filled day. Learners thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was a wonderful way to end off the term on a positive and energetic note.
CARNIVAL DAY
Our Grade R – 3 learners had their Carnival Day on 25 March. The day was filled with laughter, running, games and excitement. After a term of hard work and many new challenges, this relaxing and joyful day was well deserved.
The Foundation Phase learners grow tremendously — emotionally and intellectually — during the first term of the year. There is a great deal of new work and adjustment required. We are extremely proud of our little ones who showed determination and resilience. They are truly very clever and handled the term beautifully.
GOLD REEF CITY TRIP
Our high school learners will be going on an outing to Gold Reef City on Thursday, 26 March. They will also be ending the term on a high note. High school requires dedication, focus and consistent effort in order to achieve academic goals. Learners must stay attentive and committed to understanding every aspect of their subjects. This outing will provide them with a valuable opportunity to relax and recharge.
DEBATE AND SPELLING BEE COMPETITIONS
Our learners recently took part in internal Debate and Spelling Bee competitions held at school. They proved themselves to be confident, capable and a real force to be reckoned with. We are confident that they will continue to excel academically throughout the year.

A sincere thank you to Teacher Sharlotte and Kgomotso Dikobe for arranging these wonderful competitions, as well as to all the other teachers who assisted in making the events a success.

HOLIDAY AND KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE
As we enter the holiday period, we kindly request parents to remain vigilant regarding their children’s safety. Holidays often mean more free time, and without proper supervision learners may be exposed to risky situations or negative peer influence. Please ensure that you always know where your child is, who they are spending time with, and what activities they are involved in. Learners should not be allowed to roam unsupervised, spend excessive time in malls or public places, or go anywhere without parental permission.
Encourage open communication at home and set clear boundaries. Supervision, structure and guidance remain essential even during school holidays. Together we can ensure that our learners return next term safe, rested and ready to learn.

SAFETY DURING THE HOLIDAY
We would like to remind parents that learner safety remains a priority, even during the holidays. Please ensure that your child does not go anywhere without permission and is properly supervised at all times. Learners should not spend long periods hanging around in malls or other public places without adult supervision. Encourage responsible choices and safe friendships to prevent unnecessary trouble.
CELL PHONES AND SOCIAL MEDIA DURING THE HOLIDAY
We encourage parents to carefully monitor learners’ use of cell phones and social media during this holiday period. Children should be given opportunities to play, be active, spend time outdoors, and develop creativity rather than spending excessive time on their phones.
Communication is essential for healthy family and friendship relationships. Meaningful conversations and shared experiences become difficult when learners are constantly distracted by screens. This holiday provides a wonderful opportunity for families to reconnect.
Reading is also extremely important for academic success. Learners who cannot read fluently or understand what they are reading will struggle across many subjects and later in life. Please encourage daily reading, even if it is for a short period.
Developing strong reading habits now will benefit learners greatly in the future.
We strongly encourage families to use this holiday time to sit together, talk, laugh and enjoy both quality and quantity time with one another — without the constant interruption of cell phones.
CELL PHONE POLICY
Despite repeated communication, some learners continue to bring and use cell phones at school.
Cell phones are negatively affecting learners’ concentration, academic performance and behaviour, both at school and at home. Learners are also accessing online content and websites that are not age-appropriate.
For this reason, the school maintains a strict NO CELL PHONE policy. Parents are requested to support the school fully in enforcing this rule. Learners who fail to comply will face the necessary disciplinary consequences.
SCHOOL FEES
Parents are kindly requested to ensure that their school fee accounts are fully up to date before the school offices close on 27 March.
All remaining outstanding accounts will be handed over for collection on this date.
Please check your account and settle any outstanding balances as soon as possible.
To the many parents who consistently pay their fees before or on the 3rd of each month and who remain committed throughout the year — we extend our sincere gratitude. Your reliability enables the school to function effectively and continue providing quality education.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
As Term 2 approaches, colder weather will soon set in.
Please note that from 1 May, all learners are required to wear FULL WINTER UNIFORM every day. Parents are encouraged to use the holiday period to ensure that uniforms still fit properly and that all required items are available.
