NEWSLETTER 27 | TERM 4 – 2017

Good day

Welcome back to all the parents, learners and teachers.  We hope and trust that you all had a wonderful time at home and that you are well rested and ready for the last term of 2017.

This term is very short but very busy.

CHURCH SERVICE FOR GRADE 12 LEARNERS AND PARENTS:

On Friday 13 October 2017 we will be having the church service for the grade 12 learners, their parents and the grade 12 teachers.  It will be held at Akasia Connect.  Service will start at 10h00.  Thereafter the learners will return to school.

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

The school uniform is available at Silver Cross, Madelief Centre, Pretoria-North.  We have addressed this issue ample times now and there are still learners wearing the wrong uniform or don’t obey the school rules regarding uniform.

The new slim fit pants for boys and girls are available at Silver Cross.  They can only wear the slim fit from the supplier.  If your child is wearing any other slim fit, he/she will be send home to redress.

The PT tracksuit pants will also be available from Silver Cross.  It is a black tracksuit pant with our logo and the school’s name embroided on the pants.  NO other tracksuit pant will be allowed for PT.  Please make sure when you purchase your child’s uniform for the next year that you buy the correct clothing otherwise it is going to cost you extra money if they don’t have the correct uniform.

SCHOOL BAGS:

We have informed you last year at the end of the year that Caddies will not be allowed anymore.  It is a sound nuisance and it is extremely heavy for the learners to carry it around.  It also takes up a lot of space in the class and in the bus.

TIN FOOD PROJECT:

With Xmas around the corner we have to think about those that are not so fortunate than we are.  We would like to contribute to those that might not have anything to eat over Xmas time.  We therefor ask that each learner must please bring at least 2 tins of food to school during the next 2 weeks.  We would like to make the donation at the end of October to those in need.

CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION:

Mrs. Lynette Rossouw’s grade 7 learners took part in the Creative Writing competition last term at district level.  They did extremely well and we would like to share it with you:

REPORTS:

Reports will be handed out on Thursday, 12 October 2017 at the end of the day.

SCHOOL FEES:

We would like to thank each and every parent or grandparent that is paying the school fee for his/her child/grandchild so promptly every month.  We know that it is for many a struggle but still you make sure that your child’s fees are paid up as you know how important good education is.  The school also need the money to manage all accounts, like you need your salary to be able to make ends meet.

But once again there are parents that are still owing school fees and we feel that each parent need to take care of their own and not piggy back on somebody else’s generosity.  We therefore plead that those that are still owing fees will pay it ASAP to avoid cancellation and steps taken afterwards.  All parent that owe fees did receive many sms messages over the past 2 weeks, but only a handful responded by paying the overdue amounts.

FINAL EXAMS 2017:

The final exams are starting in a few weeks time.  All teachers prepared the scopes for each subject and these scopes will be given to each learner in the following week.  It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that your child is thoroughly prepared for each paper written.  Help your child study or summarize so that they know you are there for them and they can focus on the studying.  A learner that only start to study the day before the paper will be under tremendous stress as many times the workload is a lot.  At the end of the year we would like to see each learner pass and that can only be done if we take hands and be very strict for the next few weeks.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. JS Diedericks
Operational Principal
