NEWSLETTER 27 | TERM 3 – 2016

Good day,

If your child is not yet wearing the summer uniform, please make sure that they do it ASAP.  No beanies or scarfs are allowed anymore.  The uniform is available at Silver Cross, Madelief Centre, Pretoria-North.

Some learners’ uniform is really very dirty and some is too small.  Please make sure that your child is exceptionally neat every day.  They need to be proud of their uniform.  This is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that your child is correctly and neatly dressed every day for school.

Learners must wear the correct PT uniform when they have PT.  Please make sure your child has the correct PT uniform on, otherwise your child will be taken out and the parents will be phoned to come and collect the learner from school.

They have to put on for PT:  Plain black tracksuit pants (not skinny leg or ski pants) or Vossies Short with red PT shirt from Silver Cross.  They wear tekkies with white sport sock with red and black stripe that is also available at Silver Cross.

We have addressed the clothing problem a few times.  From now on, learners with the incorrect uniform, including the PT uniform will be send to the office and parents will have to bring the correct uniform or fetch them from school.

Every end of the year some learners and parents are not satisfied with the report.  BUT we have ask throughout the year that parents must help their kids with assignments, tasks and study for tests.  The exam is around the corner and we would like to ask you to help your child with his/her studies, make sure they are thoroughly prepared for every paper.  AT the end of the year all can be satisfied knowing that they did their best to get good results.

The scope of each subject will be given to all learners next term.

It is the responsibility of each parent to make sure that his/her child set a time table and study for exams.

We ask to make sure that your child/ren school fees are paid up for 2016, before the exam starts.  Remember that November’s school fees must be paid on or before the 3rd of November 2016.  That will be the last payment for the year, excluding the re-registration fee for 2017.  Re-registration fee must be paid end of October 2016.  Remember that re-registration fee forms part of 2016’s fees and must be paid end of October 2016.

School closes Friday, 30 September 2016 at 11h00.  Learners that makes use of taxi or after care transport, must please inform the drivers to fetch the learners at 11h0 on Friday.

School will re-open again on the 10th of October 2016.

This topic was addressed many times, but there are still parents dropping their kids off at school at 8h30 up to 9h00 in the mornings.  As from now on the gates will be closed at 7h45, security will not be able to open the gate after that.  Learners that are dropped off later than 7h45 will not be able to enter the premises, parents must take them back home or then to work.  The principal himself, have spoken to parents about this situation, but still these parents come late every day.  These learners miss most of the first period every day and therefore we can’t take any responsibility if these learners fail the specific subject.  It is very unfair towards your child to be late every day.

We do understand that there might be a day which you might have a problem, but not every day.

Thank you to all those parents that make sure that the learners are at school in time.  We have to set an example to our youth and it all starts at home.  Thank you for your positive input into the lives of these learners.  They will grow up to be “The cream of the crop”.

Enjoy your weekend and the holiday.  We do hope and trust that you will spend quality and quantity time with your children.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. JS Diedericks
