As 2026 draws to a close, Charlton Vos College reaches the end of a remarkable era. It is with both gratitude and heartfelt emotion that we bid farewell to our beloved Principal, Mr Diedericks who retires after 16 years of exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication and faithful service.
Some people simply fill a position. Others define it.
For sixteen years, our Principal, Mr Diedericks has been the heart of Charlton Vos College. He has not merely managed a school; he has built a family, inspired generations and established a legacy that will continue to shape lives for many years to come.
His leadership has always been characterised by integrity, humility, wisdom and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence. Every decision he made reflected his deep commitment to doing what was right, even when it was not the easiest path. He led with courage, fairness and compassion, earning the trust and admiration of learners, parents, staff and the broader community alike.
He believed that excellence was never accidental—it was achieved through hard work, discipline, consistency and high expectations. Under his leadership, Charlton Vos College continually raised its standards, becoming a school recognised not only for academic excellence but also for strong character, discipline and genuine care for every learner entrusted to us.
Perhaps his greatest contribution has been ensuring that Christian values were not simply taught, but lived. Faith, integrity, honesty, compassion, humility and respect became woven into the very fabric of our school. He understood that education extends far beyond textbooks and examinations; it is about shaping hearts, developing character and preparing young people to become responsible, compassionate citizens who make a positive difference in the world.
Thousands of learners have walked through the gates of Charlton Vos College during his years of service. Each one has been touched, directly or indirectly, by his vision, his care and his unwavering belief that every child has God-given potential. Many have gone on to build successful careers, strong families and meaningful lives, carrying with them the values they learnt while under his leadership.
His influence reached far beyond our classrooms. Parents found in him a trusted leader who always placed children first. Staff found in him a mentor who encouraged excellence while offering guidance, support and encouragement. The wider community came to know Charlton Vos College as a school built on honesty, quality, respect and Christian principles because he consistently lived those values every single day.
What makes his legacy truly remarkable is not only what he accomplished, but how he accomplished it. He led with grace instead of pride, with humility instead of recognition, and with service instead of self-interest. He believed that leadership is not about authority, but about inspiring others to become the very best version of themselves.
He has been deeply loved and respected by everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him. His kindness, warmth, wisdom and genuine concern for others have left an imprint on countless lives. While his office may one day be occupied by another, the legacy he leaves behind can never be replaced.
Charlton Vos College is stronger today because of his vision. It is respected because of his standards. It is united because of his leadership. It is a place where Christian values flourish because he faithfully protected and promoted them. As he enters this well-deserved season of retirement, we do so with hearts filled with gratitude. We thank him for sixteen years of unwavering loyalty, sacrificial service and inspirational leadership. We thank him for every challenge he embraced, every life he touched, every standard he raised and every prayer he offered on behalf of our school family.
Although retirement marks the end of his professional journey with Charlton Vos College, the legacy he leaves behind will live on in every classroom, every teacher, every learner and every family whose lives have been enriched through his faithful service.

Welcoming Our New Principal: Mrs K Kau
While no one can replace the remarkable legacy of our retiring Principal, Mr Diedericks, every great legacy creates an opportunity for another to continue the journey.
It is therefore with great pride, confidence and excitement that we announce the appointment of our new Principal, Mrs Kau, who officially assumes her position on 1 January 2027.
This appointment was made after careful consideration. We were not simply looking for an outstanding educator—we were looking for the right leader. We needed someone who understands our vision, embraces our Christian values, appreciates the unique culture of Charlton Vos College and shares our commitment to providing every learner with an exceptional education in a caring, family-orientated environment. We are delighted that this leader has already been part of the Charlton Vos College family for the past 14 years.
Throughout her years at our school, she has distinguished herself as an exceptional educator and leader. As an English teacher, she consistently achieved outstanding academic results, inspiring her learners to strive for excellence and helping them develop a lifelong appreciation for language and learning.
In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she faithfully served for many years as Head of Department (HOD) for the FET Phase, where she provided strong academic leadership, mentored teachers, maintained high educational standards and played an integral role in the continued success of our High School. Her dedication, professionalism and commitment to excellence have earned her the respect and admiration of learners, parents and colleagues alike.
She understands what makes Charlton Vos College special. Our school is not simply a place of education—it is a family. It is a place where Christian values guide every decision, where relationships matter, where every learner is known, supported and encouraged to reach his or her full potential.
She has been part of this culture for many years. She knows our traditions, our vision and our values. She understands the heartbeat of our school, and because of that, she is uniquely positioned to lead Charlton Vos College into its next exciting chapter.
She undoubtedly has big shoes to fill, but we have every confidence that she will honour the extraordinary legacy she inherits while writing a remarkable chapter of her own.
She is a leader of integrity, compassion and vision. She leads by example, serves with humility, acts with dignity and inspires those around her to strive for excellence.
