Newsletter : Letter 29 / Term 4 – 2017

Good day

LATE COMING IN THE MORNINGS AND LATE STAYING IN THE AFTERNOONS:

We have addressed this problem previously, but with no avail.  Learners must be at school not later that 07h40 in the mornings, like stipulated in the contract that you signed.  Learners that are not in time for school will have to be taken home.  The gates will be closed at exactly 7h45, when the bell ring for the first period or then for the start of the exam session.  It stays your responsibility to make sure that your child is on time every day.

We sit with a problem with learners remaining after school because their parents or the private transport did not pick them up when school is out.  Like stipulated in the contract your child needs to be collected not later that 14h15 from Monday to Thursday and not later than 13h15 on a Friday.  If your child is still here after those given times, he/she will have to sit outside of school premises.   The gates will be closed at exactly those times, and WE WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LEARNER OUTSIDE THE PREMISES AFTER THE GIVEN TIMES.  Make sure you collect your child on time to avoid problems for you.

WE DON’T HAVE AN AFTER CARE AND THE SCHOOL PATROLLERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO LOOK AFTER YOUR CHILD AFTER ABOVE TIMES.

EXAM TIMES FROM MONDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2017:

As stipulated in the previous letter the exam starts on Monday 30 October.  As from Monday the school will be out at 12h00.  ALL LEARNERS NEED TO BE COLLECTED NOT LATER THAN 12H15 UNTIL THE 24TH NOVEMBER 2017 WHEN THE EXAM ENDS.

Make the necessary arrangements with the aftercare, taxi or private transport person.  The buses will leave here not later than 12h15.  Once again, the school patrollers will lock the gate at 12h15 and thereafter your child will be outside of the school premises.  We can’t take any responsibility for any learner after 12h15.

REMEMBER:  Your child must be at school not later than 07h40 every day.  If your child is late they will not be allowed in the class / exam centre while the teacher is busy given through instructions for the specific paper.  Your child will then only be allowed once all papers are handed out to enter the class / exam centre.  No extra time will be given to a late comer.

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

The school uniform is available at Silver Cross, Madelief Centre, Pretoria-North.  We have addressed this issue ample times now and there are still learners wearing the wrong uniform or don’t obey the school rules regarding uniform.

The new slim fit pants for boys and girls are available at Silver Cross.  They can only wear the slim fit from the supplier.  If your child is wearing any other slim fit, he/she will be send home to redress.

The PT tracksuit pants will also be available from Silver Cross.  It is a black tracksuit pant with our logo and the school’s name embroided on the pants.  NO other tracksuit pant will be allowed for PT.  Please make sure when you purchase your child’s uniform for the next year that you buy the correct clothing otherwise it is going to cost you extra money if they don’t have the correct uniform.

SCHOOL BAGS:

We have informed you last year at the end of the year that Caddies will not be allowed anymore.  It is a sound nuisance and it is extremely heavy for the learners to carry it around.  It also takes up a lot of space in the class and in the bus.

SCHOOL FEES:

We would like to take this opportunity and thank all the parents that pay the school fees promptly every month.  November 2017’s fees must be paid by the 3rd of November.  No arrangements can be made for late payments.

We just want to emphasize the fact that if your child’s fees are not paid up to date, your child will not be able to make use of the free bus transport to and from school every day.  If you are transporting your child yourself you MUST FETCH YOUR CHILD NOT LATER THAN 14H15 FROM SCHOOL.  School patrollers WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILD AFTER 14H15.
